随着中国国际贸易“单一窗口”建设工作的快速推进，在国家层面出台了一系列政策和措施，其中《国家口岸管理办公室关于国际贸易“单一窗口”建设的框架意见》明确了中央和地方建设单一窗口的范畴，地方“单一窗口”将建设除“单一窗口”标准版功能外的政务服务、物流服务、数据服务、特色服务等方面功能。
中国（宁波）国际贸易单一窗口经过十余年的建设发展，已建设了一批具有地方特色的政务项目，如跨境综试区平台、加工贸易公共服务平台等。在以后的建设中，中国（宁波）国际贸易单一窗口将按照既定规划，继续做好本地特色服务的同时，拓展金融、保险、企业诚信等各方面的服务。
